Dr. Amin ShokrollahiCEO & Founder

Amin is the founder and CEO of Kandou and is one of Switzerland’s most inspiring entrepreneurs.

Kandou is a leading provider of high-speed, energy-efficient chip-to-chip link solutions to improve the way the world connects and communicates.

Amin has been at the forefront of research in information communication for the last 20 years. He was Chief Scientist of Digital Fountain (now Qualcomm), a company specializing in the transmission of data on unreliable networks and inventor of Raptor codes, a class of codes standardized by 3GPP, DVB, IPTV and other standards bodies. An IEEE Fellow, he has published more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has more than 200 granted and filed patents in information transmission.

Jeff WinzelerCFO

Jeff began his career with Intel Corporation where he led world-wide financial teams while based in the US,
Israel, and Malaysia. After Intel, he served as the CFO and COO for International DisplayWorks (Acquired by Flextronics), CFO for Solar Power Inc. (Acquired by LDK Solar), and CFO for Avnera (Acquired by  Skyworks).

Jeff secured working capital for business growth and successfully scaled these businesses through their exits. Prior to joining Kandou in 2020, Jeff was the CFO of Everspin Technologies where he helped build the foundation for its growth and led it through its 2016 NASDAQ IPO.

Jeff’s expertise includes leadership across multiple disciplines, such as finance, information technology, human resources, operations, procurement, and investor relations in both private and public company
settings.

Frank LavetyGeneral Manager

Frank joined Kandou in 2018 and as General Manager, he leads Kandou’s product development, operations
and marketing.

He has over 30 years’ experience across multiple sectors, predominantly within semiconductors but also with high-tech medical and optical products and has held COO and CEO positions. Frank has worked with several University spin outs from Oxford, Edinburgh and now EPFL, developing cutting edge products and successfully bringing them to market in high volumes.

Frank was VP Operations at Wolfson Microelectronics PLC, a fabless semiconductor company that became a
world leading brand in audio, imaging and power management technologies, based in Edinburgh, Scotland. During Frank’s tenure, Wolfson IPO’d on the FTSE reaching a market cap of $1.5bn, shipping billions of mixed signal ICs to the world’s largest consumer electronics brands including Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, Sony and many more. Wolfson was acquired by Cirrus Logic in 2014.

Anant SinghVP of Engineering

Anant heads Engineering and has overall responsibility for conceptualization, design, development and
productization of Kandou’s products and silicon IP.

This includes sub functions like architecture, IC design, software development, validation and characterization, EDA tools and lab infrastructure.

He was Product Design Manager at Innovative Silicon S.A., responsible for the development and
deployment of Z-RAM® based memory IP for both the embedded and DRAM markets. The technology
was licensed by AMD and Hynix Semiconductor, and the company was acquired by Micron Technologies
in 2010.

Anant started his career at Intel Corporation in 1998, where as Senior Member of Technical Staff he was
instrumental in productization of Low Voltage Swing technology on Pentium® 4. He has designed caches
and custom high-speed ALU components on various generations of Intel Pentium® III and Core processors.

Subhash RoyVP of Strategy

Subhash leads Strategy at Kandou. Prior to joining Kandou, he helped launch new product categories
including Mobile Application Acceleration at Kwicr, and Packet over Glass (APM).

He had many senior executive roles at multiple start-ups and public companies including Kwicr, AMCC, Cape Semiconductor, Kodiak Venture Partners, and TranSwitchCorp, and has served as either a board member or adviser for multiple private venture-backed companies.

Subhash has 33 granted and pending patent applications.

Thomas BoudrotVP of Sales & Business Development

Thomas leads Kandou’s Sales & Business Development efforts focused on all aspects of selling our devices and licensing our technology to our customers.

Thomas has 20 years of strategic and operational sales experience and previously served as Sr. Director of EMEA Sales, Data Center and Communication Group at AMD Xilinx. There, he led a Global team, where he was responsible for developing and managing major tier 1 EMEA Telecommunication Accounts on a Worldwide basis through the creation of strong partnerships. Under his management, data center accounts achieved double-digit growth year on year, due to his results-driven mentality and successful strategy to promote Xilinx solutions in new markets such as AI & ML, Fintech, Big Data Analytics, Video, and HPC.

Bob IrvineChief IP Counsel and Associate General Counsel

Robert leads Kandou’s intellectual property group and is responsible for curating and enforcing all aspects of Kandou’s IP.

After completing his MSEE and working as an engineer in Motorola’s Corporate Research labs, Robert received a JD from Northwestern University and began his legal career at the Chicago law firm of Niro Scavone Haller & Niro.

He was also an equity partner at patent boutique MBHB in Chicago where he specialized in patent
prosecution and patent litigation, prior to starting up a new in-house patent prosecution team at
InterDigital Communications in the Philadelphia area.

Karen LathaenHead of Human Resources

As head of Human Resources, Karen is responsible for the development of Kandou’s global HR strategy
and organizational development through people, technology and compliance.

Karen brings to Kandou more than 20 years of professional HR experience, building strong relationships and developing exceptional careers across the semiconductor industry.

Before joining Kandou, Karen was HR Director, UK & Ireland, for the global, semiconductor design and manufacturing company Texas Instruments Limited (TI). Whilst at TI, Karen was instrumental in shaping the long-term direction of this multi-billion-dollar,
international organization by adapting HR strategy,
policies, procedures and the organizational development to a constantly changing environment.

Karen is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and joined Kandou in 2017.

Michael SchulzDirector of Quality

Michael is responsible for Quality Management at Kandou.

He started his career at a German fabless semiconductor start-up in 1990. There, he was responsible for the development, test, volume production and customer support for mixed-signal integrated circuits in medical, automotive and communication devices.

When the company moved into high-speed SerDes design in 2001, it was acquired by US-based Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation and later on by Microsemi Corporation, California. There Michael managed
international SerDes IP and Ethernet projects as well the commercial part of their German design centers.

In 2017, Michael joined Kandou and started to build the Kandou Quality Management System.

Raj SinghChairman of the Board

Raj’s career includes leadership positions in the Semiconductor Industry.

He served in multiple leadership roles at Marvell Semiconductor, most recently as the Executive Vice President for the Processor Business Group focused on Cloud, AI, Infrastructure and 5G.  Prior to its acquisition by Marvell, Raj was Vice President & General Manager at Cavium Inc, with a focus on integrated semiconductor processors that enable intelligent networking, communications, storage and security applications.
